Our Edmonds 4th of July Parade: March for the Marsh! was a rollicking success!
Thanks to the positive energy and spirited performance of the 70 plus participants of all ages,
including students from Edmonds-Woodway High School’s Students Saving Salmon group,
our goal of reconnecting the marsh to Puget Sound was well received.
The marchers were rewarded with enthusiastic clapping and cheering by the 15,000+ viewers
who lined the parade route.
Our salmon props and the 24-foot replica of Southern Resident J-pod Orca, Tahlequah,
helped to showcase the potential positive role that the Edmonds Marsh can play
in our Puget Sound ecosystem.

The picture above is the group about to start the parade.
At the rear behind all the salmon puppets and windsocks
is the life-size inflated Orca along with her Orca calf.

this effort to publicize the marsh-estuary restoration project through the parade
such a notable success and so much fun.
