BIG NEWS! The Washington State Department of Ecology has now released a revised draft feasibility study and public participation plan related to cleanup of the Unocal property that borders the Edmonds Marsh. Critical to marsh/estuary restoration, the former bulk fuel terminal site has been in Ecology-mandated cleanup since 2001. The most important question being addressed is: Will the current cleanup level be deemed complete or is more still needed? Whatever is decided will influence the options to restore the marsh to a fully functioning estuary that supports salmon.
